ON Friday, January 22, the Ledbury Library Development Group were delighted to welcome Quentin Letts to talk about his latest book ‘The Speaker’s Wife’. Well known for his political sketch writing and theatre critiques in the Daily Mail, this is his first novel. He kept the audience entertained by sharing some of the thinking behind the story and tantalized everyone by reading extracts. Lindsay Jackson of Ledbury Books and Maps was on hand with copies and sales were brisk.
In the second part of the evening Quentin Letts invited questions from the audience and a lively exchange followed. This covered a wide range of topics from ideas for his next book to Britain’s membership of the European Union.
