ST GABRIELS WI, HANLEY SWAN
ON Tuesday, April 14 members had their monthly meeting, and this month was a talk The Mary Rose Story given by Bill Davies who was very enthusiastic about the subject.
Members learned how The May Rose was build in Henry VIII time and sank off the coast of Portsmouth.
When discovered in the 1960s there was thousands of artifacts brought up from the sea, even the archers uniforms, all of which are now in the wonderful Mary Rose Museum in Portsmouth.
It was a very enjoyable and informative afternoon.
