WELLAND WI We know a lot more about leather now than we did before our meeting in March! Ms Fred Hughes created a wonderful leather belt using traditional methods, right in front of our eyes. The skill she has honed over 30 years of leather-working was evident. The belt, or one from the collection she brought, was offered as a raffle prize and our winner was over-joyed. Cake was delicious as ever – never let that be a tradition that dies!

Our next meeting, on Monday 18th April, is a talk from Chrissy Ching on the life and works of Capability Brown. I am sure it will be brilliant, as some of our members have heard her speak before and look forward to hearing her again. I hope for more cake, obviously. At the very least we get a good biccy selection.

Welland WI meet at Welland Village Hall on the third Monday of each month. New members and visitors are always welcome. You don’t need to be able to sing, bake or make jam!
