ON Monday, April 6, the Government’s pension reforms come into force giving people approaching retirement the freedom to choose how they will use their defined pension pots.
To help people understand their options, the Government has introduced Pension Wise, which will give people free, impartial guidance either online, via telephone or face to face.

Citizens Advice nationally will be delivering face to face Pension Wise guidance, with 50 delivery centres across England and Wales working with over 500 sites to provide appointments, Worcester CAB included. The delivery centres have been chosen to offer a geographical spread accessible to people approaching retirement.
South Worcestershire Citizens Advice will help local people to access Pension Wise. People will be able to contact our Bureau and we will work with them to see if they would benefit from online, telephone or face to face guidance, and help them book an appointment with their nearest or preferred delivery centre if they are eligible to use the service.
The profile of the pension reforms means that we anticipate more local people considering their finances in retirement, and coming to us for general guidance on financial issues and concerns.
Citizens Advice are the experts in helping people make sense of their circumstances, helping people with complex financial queries from debt issues to pension scams.
We will be working with the Government and local people to do what we do best – giving guidance that helps people to make the right choices for them, and take control of their lives.
