LAST Sunday morning baby twins Samuel and Arushna were baptised at St Peter’s church.

This coming Sunday is Palm Sunday and there is no 11am service in Powick, instead there is a donkey procession at Madresfield, starting at Hayswood Farm at 10.45am. Everyone is invited to walk to Madresfield Church for the 11am 4in Faith Family Service.

This marks the beginning of Holy Week when there is a service each evening at St Peter’s, Powick at 7.30am. On Maundy Thursday, April 2 the 4in Faith Holy Communion is at 7.30pm. Good Friday Services are at Guarlford at 9.30am and at St James’, Callow End at 2pm.

The Coffee morning in aid of Barnabas held at St James’ last Saturday raised £292.80 to support persecuted Christians. Thanks are expressed to all who attended.

Powick Schools holds its Easter Service in St Peter’s Church at 9am while Callow End School holds its Easter Service at St James’ Church at 2.30pm.

An Easter themed Lord’s Alive activity meeting takes place today in St James’ Church, Callow End, from 3.30pm to 4.30pm for primary age children; entry is 50p per child.

Powick Community Choir is busy rehearsing for their next concert which is being held in Pershore Abbey on Saturday, June 6. Tickets are available now at the reduced price of £7.50 (normal price will be £10) and can be booked with Sally Gurney on 01905 830746). Pershore Abbey is a large venue to fill; many people are required to support your local choir, under Tom Wells’ direction.
