THIS month was no exception when Sue Lamberton came to spend an evening discussing Medical Myths my Mother Taught Me.

Another hilarious time was had by us all when the questions were asked. The evening took the form of a quiz which everyone thought, oh, that’s going to be easy, well we were wrong! With questions like, do we lose most of our heat from the top of our heads, do we only use 10% of our brains, can we catch Chicken Pox from Shingles and do our nails and hair keep growing after we die. I won’t tell you the answers as she may come to your meeting sometime, just to say that there were 30 questions in all and no one got them all right I think only one member did well and even after a lot of conferring the rest were quite poor. We weren’t worried though as we had thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were able to tell her a few myths that weren’t on her list.

As usual members have a packed programme of future events, with the two Book Clubs, Craft Group in which members are taking up patchwork, crochet, card making and any other craft we find interesting. Members have lunches out, visits to interesting places including the Staffordshire Hoard and the SS Great Britain amongst others, plus celebrating 100 years of WI with lots of activities both locally and nationally.

If you think any of these items might interest you come along to the Wells Village Hall at 7.30pm on the second Thursday of the month you will always be made very welcome. Alternatively phone Trish on 01684 560149 or Lillian on 01684 565556 and I have only listed a few of our interesting events.
