MALVERN Link Probus Club held one of its regular meetings on Monday, January 19, when Brian Ely spoke to us about precious metals.
Brian has spent 45 years working in the precious metals trade and is vastly knowledgeable on the subject. He is also a talented and entertaining speaker. He told us how gold is recycled, and described many of the uses of precious metals apart from jewellery. A few examples from many include church organ refurbishment, atomic weaponry and even the sinking of the Belgrano.
It really was a fascinating talk.
Malvern Link Probus Club meets every other Monday morning at the hall next to the United Reformed Church in Malvern Link.
Our next meeting will be on Monday, February 2 when Dennis Beasley will be talking about Albert.
New members are welcome, and if you might be interested in visiting this friendly club please give the Secretary a ring on 01684 565190 for more information.
