AT the November meeting David Clark gave a fascinating talk entitled From the Guildhall to beyond the seas.

He told members how he had researched not only the lives of eight female convicts from the Worcester area but also found what the conditions were like during the long voyage to Australia and then what happened to them in that far off land. David finished by detailing some remarkable coincidences between his own journeyings in Australia and those of one of the women.

After coffee, Jill the President read the Minutes of the last meeting and then passed round a board for members to sign up for the Christmas Lunch at The Marlbank. She read out the provisional programme of speakers for 2015 and explained to the members that the Charities Mini Market where members always have a stall did not take place this year because of a double booking.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 2 when members will be entertained by the Hand Bell Ringers from Wells & Wyche WI. Members meet at the United Reformed Church Hall, Worcester Road, Malvern Link (car parking at both front and rear of the Hall). The meeting starts at 10.30am (doors open 10am) and new members and visitors are always welcome. Please contact Jill on 01684 566540 for more information.
