A HARD-rocking band with a global appeal and timeless longevity are enjoying a busy time of it lately.

Evesham-based Wrathchild UK, who rose to prominence and caused a stir in the late 80s and early 90s with their onstage antics, penned a new record deal with American-based Perris Records last year and are continuing to kick on.

The four-piece, who are lead singer Gaz ‘Psychowrath’ Harris and founder members Marc Angel, Eddie Star and Phil ‘Wrathchild’ Vokins, have been touring their brand of glam-rock since March and are showing no signs of slowing down with the second leg of their Stalkin’ The Earth Tour getting under way next month.

They will also be headlining Billing Bikefest at Billing Aerodrome, near Northampton on Saturday, July 21, then appearing at the Rhondda Hotel in Porth, Wales, on Saturday, July 28, and featuring on the line-up of Rock ‘n’ Wrestle at the UKW Thunderdrome in Horbury, near Leeds on Sunday, August 5.

Gaz said: “The album sets out exactly what this band is all about – great hooks, powerful guitars and overall it has a rawness that makes the record sound different from all those that are simply recorded on to computers and compressed to oblivion, which makes most other records sound the same.

“The songs translate great live, which is really where we come into our own. Everybody sings along to the new stuff as if they’ve known these songs for a long time, which is a great reaction given that despite the luxury of having such a large back catalogue to choose from our shows consist mostly of songs from the new album by popular demand.”

Their fourth studio album, STAKK ATTAKK TWO, was released in August and has since gone on to be voted album of the year by the readers of Grande Rock in Italy.

It is available to buy from retailers such as Amazon, HMV and Rapture Records in Evesham’s Riverside Shopping Centre.
