PUPILS at Malvern Parish Primary School have been finding out about hang gliding from the experts.

As part of the school’s Olympic-themed work, teachers set the children the project of writing a brief to persuade Olympic authorities to include hang gliding in the Games.

“We chose it because hang gliding is quite popular in the Malvern Hills,” said head Lyn Gill. To find out more, they invited members of Malvern Hang Gliding Club to visit.

“They set up two hang gliders in the grounds, brought along their equipment to let the children try and gave a talk and slide show,” said Mrs Gill. “The children were fascinated.”
