THE return of a festival to a historic Cotswold town will get people buzzing with activity in celebration of two Queens.

Winchcombe Festival of Music and Arts will honour the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at a gala night with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, June 2.

A madrigals event and mediaeval music by Waytes and Measures will pay homage to the 500th anniversary of the birth Queen Katherine Parr, Henry VIII’s last wife, who is buried at nearby Sudeley Castle.

In total there will be more than 40 events involving more than 400 performers across 20 venues, from Tuesday, May 29, to Sunday, June 3.
