THE Upton International Music Festival returns with more features and a long list of household names.

Now in its third year, the three-day party on Fish Meadow runs from Friday to Sunday, August 24-26, and promises to keep all the family entertained.

Music for all can be found in the new disco tent presented by Bringing Out The Vinyl, with a line-up of great DJs mixing all the classics.

Some familiar artists lighting up the main stage include Los Pacaminos with Paul Young, Hazel O’Connor, the Move, China Crisis, Union Gap, Eban Brown of the Stylistics, Mungo Jerry and the Mindbenders.

Jennifer Smith, the festival’s events director, said: “We feel the disco tent will be a great addition to our festival because it gives people more choice, along with the second stage where there will be a variety of up and coming, local and semi-pro bands.

“Quite simply, if you fancy a change or don’t like what’s on the main stage, there will be plenty more for you to see and do.”

She added last year’s revellers helped shape the festival as it continues to grow.

“We wanted to thank all who gave us feedback on last years event via e-mail and social networking sites, it has made a huge difference on the festival’s development for this year.” Other acts featuring include 60s and 70s smash-hit pop group Racey, Doctor and the Medics, Alvin Stardust, 80s rockers Saxon, ska and 2-Tone sensations the Selecter featuring Pauline Black and the Beat.

The camping experience has also been improved and rearranged to make access easier, with additional toilets and showers being found in the enclosed family camping area.

All inclusive adult weekend tickets are available for £65 and children aged 13- 17 can enjoy the same treatment for £20.
