THE fiancé of a peer’s daughter has appeared in court over alleged harassment.
Paul Bellingham, aged 41, of Worcester Road, Malvern, denied two charges of harassment when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester on Tuesday.
Bellingham, who is the partner of Linda Granville, daughter of the late Lord Granville of Eye in Suffolk, faces charges that he harassed George Yardley with unwanted and unnecessary phone calls and visits between October 7 and November 11 last year.
He also is charged that he harassed Peter George Young by leaving three voicemail messages on the answerphone of Malvern Priory Church directed at him in an attempt to cause him to be dismissed from his position between August 21 and September 12 last year.
Bellingham, who represented himself at the hearing, said he would not be seeking legal aid as he was not eligible for it.
He described himself in the hearing as engaged to Linda Granville.
The case was adjourned for a trial on March 9. He was granted bail on condition he does not attend Malvern Priory Church, does not contact Peter George Young by any means, does not enter Woodfields Farm in Madresfield and does not contact George Yardley or Sheila Yardley or Robin Rose, directly or indirectly.
