A THOROUGHLY birdy evening is being organised by the Castlemorton and Birtsmorton branch of West Worcester-shire Conservative Association on Friday, September 15, at 7.30pm.

An interesting, informative and hopefully enjoyable evening is expected. Garth Lowe, of the RSPB, will start the proceedings with an illustrated talk about garden birds and the work of the RSPB.

This will be followed by an interactive forum aimed at helping local people to locate and identify the more unusual birds that can be seen in the area.

For this, Garth Lowe will be joined by Ian Rowat, director of the Malvern Hills Conservators, and Med Snookes, chairman of the Castlemorton Common Association.

To back up the experts, video footage of birds both in flight and at rest, together with recordings of their songs, alarm calls etc will be available.

After all this heady stuff, there will be free refreshments, a glass of wine and a chance to mingle.

A limited number of tickets are still available at £5 per person from Mary Weaver (01684) 833504 or Roger Gillard (01684) 833223.
