THE January meeting of the Guild saw the chairman Julie Wacey welcome members by wishing them a Happy New Year.

Members were reminded about the times for the ice show in Cardiff. This is the outing that most members really look forward to each year.

Discussion was held regarding the 2011 Christmas party and the possibility of an outside caterer being asked to provide the food for the festivities. Members agreed that it would be a good idea so that members of the committee can also enjoy the party instead of having to work behind the scenes.

Unfortunately the speaker Paul McGuire was unable to attend at the last minute and Sylvia Barratt, our treasurer, kindly took his place and told members about the early days of the Guild. This brought back memories for some longstanding members and provided an insight into activities held in the past for those who are fairly new. The vote of thanks was given by Sally Baker.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, February 17 at 10.15am at the URC Hall, Worcester Road, Malvern Link when Elizabeth Adlam will talk on Life on the Ocean Wave. Visitors are most welcome.
