THE Christmas Craft Fayre held recently in Powick Parish Hall was well supported and made over £600 for Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Stall holders and those providing refreshments were kept busy, reflecting the high quality of the goods on sale.

A Christmas Coffee morning held last week at the home of Chris and Ken Hipwell raised £380 for the NSPCC. Thanks to all who supported in spite of the inclement weather.

Powick Ramblers’ walk last week around Abberley was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. A walk on Saturday, December 11 leaves Severn Stoke Village Hall at 12.30pm (please note the time).The five mile easy walk ends at Severn Stoke Church at 3.30pm for carols, followed by hot soup and mince pies. The walk is led by MHDFS.

On Wednesday, December 15, Garth Lowe (01886 833362) will lead a four mile level walk leaving The Bell at Lower Broadheath at 10am. A Christmas meal will be available at The Bell after if required.

On Friday, December 17 Powick Church will be open from 9am till 11am for decorating for Christmas. Gives of holly, greenery etc would be welcome as would offers of help. For details ring Jenny on 01905 830472.

Powick’s annual Christmas Celebration takes place on Friday, December 17 at 7.30pm with an evening of singing, music and readings put together by local people for the whole community. A glass of mulled wine and a mince pie will be provided and the event is free.
