THE Link Group of Churches was well represented when over 40 people joined in the Procession of Witness for Good Friday. Assembling outside Handyman House in Spring Lane, the group was led by Reverend David Nichol with Brother Peter Coombes carrying a large wooden cross. As the procession moved along the Worcester Road, hymns were sung accompanied by several silver instruments at various points, and passages relating to Good Friday were read by various members of the churches. The procession, an annual event, ended at the URC with a hymn and a prayer before entering the church for a short service led by Canon John Davies, now retired, an earlier Vicar at St Matthias church. The weather stayed dry throughout the walk.

Meanwhile, the church members of the churches of Great Malvern processed from their respective churches and converged at the grounds of the Priory Church where the Bishop of Worcester gave the Good Friday address, and where Hot Cross Buns were distributed free to the people who passed by.

To mark the forthcoming General Election, Churches Together in Malvern is hosting an Any question? style Meet the Candidates meeting on Sunday, April 11 at 2.30pm in Christ Church, Avenue Road, Malvern. The chairman for the afternoon is Reverend John Barr, Vicar of Great Malvern Priory.
