IN response to the article dated May 19: Residents oppose school for Children with Learning Difficulties and to further opposition to the new business venture.

I found the objection alarming that a small community such as Bransford would so strongly object to giving children with learning disabilities the chance to grow up in such a beautiful place. I really do not understand what the residents expect?

I am a former care support worker for teenagers with autism and learning disabilities in a much bigger establishment (40+ residents). I strongly believe that the surrounding nature and peacefulness of the countryside can enhance lifestyles for people with autism, allowing safety and a greater sensory experience.

Bransford will be idyllic for young people to be assisted in integrating into a local community which can encourage independent living for the more able. Locally, The Fold have a wonderful cafe and the Fox Inn serving food, both would be suitable venues for teaching vital day to day skills that we all take for granted. The golf course and hotel gym could be beneficial to increase health awareness and hobbies not to mention the church, worm farm, fishing and walks in the countryside.

Being so close to Malvern and Worcester will be beneficial to allow groups to have regular trips out and about.

To my knowledge there are very few places in the area that offer such specialist care and attention to individuals needs on such a small scale.

I feel this venture is wonderful and will be readily received by families with autistic children. I hope it becomes a great success, I wish them luck!
