TORY parliamentary hopeful Harriett Baldwin, has had a reply from the managing director of First Great Western about the train noise affecting Fruitlands residents who live near the railway.
Mrs Baldwin wrote to the rail company after the Malvern Gazette reported residents' complaints about 125 trains parked on the line near their houses with their engines running.
In his reply, managing director Mark Hopwood states, “I cannot offer you an immediate solution but we will look at this closely to see if there is anything we can do to address the situation. I will also make sure our drivers are re-briefed to keep any moves and noise levels to a minimum.”
Harriett Baldwin said, “Residents in the Fruitlands estate had raised this issue with me. I am keen to hear if the shunting could occur somewhere on the track where it would not disturb residents from the early hours.”
