THE Badgers made a bright start and soon got into their attractive passing game, with both wing men, Sami Rone and Dan Medakovic, having successful forays into the Colts’ half. It was no surprise when midway through the first-half the deadlock was eventually broken by striker Jaz Byers.

A visiting player then fired in an unstoppable shot, which flew into the top corner of the net.

Sam Hawthorn came close to a third goal with his long range shot denied by the Kemspey goalkeeper.

Then, in a goal mouth scramble, the ball fell kindly at the feet of Spurs’ Will Smith, who in turn fired in a powerful low shot that found the back of the Kempsey net to give his side a deserved 3-0 interval lead.

The Colts came at their visitors with renewed determination and were soon rewarded after a defensive error by the usually reliable Jack Wild, who failed to complete his clearance kick, after tackling the advancing Colts striker.

The supporting Colts player made no mistake and fired past Spurs’ keeper Ross Grimshaw.

From a comfortable first-half, the game moved into a close and tense last five minutes, as the Badgers battled to hold onto their slender lead
