TRAVELLERS in Worcestershire can expected widespread disruption on the railways today because of a strike by train drivers.

ASLEF, the trade union representing train drivers, has announced strike action today which will effect West Midlands Railway services in Worcestershire. There will be no West Midlands Railway services running today.

 

 

GWR services will also be disrupted tomorrow when there will be no long-distance train services​.

A spokesperson for GWR said: "Many parts of our network will have no service at all​."

 

 

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for West Midlands Railway said on X (formerly Twitter) said there would also be an overtime ban between Thursday and Saturday and between Monday and Tuesday.

The following train operators will be affected:

  • Friday, April 5: Avanti West Coast, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway and CrossCountry.
  • Saturday, April 6: Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway, LNER, Northern, Heathrow Express and TransPennine Express.
  • Monday, April 8: c2c, Greater Anglia (including Stansted Express), Great Northern, Thameslink, Southeastern, Southern, Gatwick Express and South Western Railway (including Island Line).
