A new event will showcase more old photographs of Malvern.

The event, A New Light on Malvern’s Past, takes place on Tuesday, November 7 from 2pm to 4.45pm at the Eden Church in Grovewood Road.

It will feature pictures found in Malvern Library’s extensive local history collection.

Volunteers from Malvern Museum are currently cataloguing and conserving the collection, with the aim of making it more easily and safely accessible to everyone.

The group has already organised three exhibitions, including last year’s very successful ‘Malvern in a Day’ in Church Walk.

November’s event will feature four short presentations showing previously unseen items and telling the stories behind them: new photographs of the 1970s; buildings that never got past the drawing board; a selection of pictures that elicited a ‘Wow!’ response; and a new piece in the puzzle of Malvern’s early history.

There will also be an exhibition of other parts of the collection, a hands-on look at the conservation materials being used, a second-hand bookstall, a raffle, and refreshments during the interval.

Tickets cost £7.50 each and can be purchased at either Malvern Museum or Malvern Library (any unsold before the event will be available on the door).

All the money raised at the event will be used for the project.
