THE crowd got behind Worcestershire Rapids to help them power their way to a home victory over the Yorkshire Vikings.

Kadeer Ali says the Worcestershire Rapids players feed off the “great backing” they received from supporters during Friday’s dramatic Vitality Blast win at New Road.

Worcestershire’s Assistant Head Coach is hoping for more of the same sort of backing when the Rapids take on Leicestershire Foxes at New Road today.

There were great scenes of joy all around the ground when Adam Finch hit the winning six against the Vikings with one ball to spare.

Kadeer said: “The crowd were absolutely brilliant on Friday, and we want to see the guys again on Monday and give us more great backing and support.

“It makes such a big difference. The lads really buzz off it, and the boys really love playing at New Road and having such great backing.”

Monday’s game is a sell-out, with the Rapids looking to maintain their 100 per cent start to the tournament.

Kadeer said: “To win T20 games, there are always going to be one or two special performances, but you need the team effort.

“Everyone is chipping in at the minute, whether with bat, ball or in the field.

“It is always good to start campaigns positively. There is a real nice atmosphere in the changing room, morale is high, and we are looking forward to the next game now.

“But every side in the tournament is dangerous, and you can’t take anyone lightly.

“We’ve just got to keep doing what we are doing and take every game as it comes. There are dangerous players in every single team.

“We have to keep doing the simple things well and keep working hard and keep trying to perform.

"We will work hard, prep for it again.”
