THE refurbishment of a Worcestershire village hall could go ahead thanks to lottery funding.

Callow End Village Hall has replaced a dated toilet block with new facilities including a separate disabled and baby changing room.

The work was completed by tradesman Paul Mucke and was partly funded by a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.

The hall also benefited from £800 from Worcestershire County Council courtesy of ward councillor Tom Wells, and used some of its own reserves.

Sue Cassidy, committee chair for Callow End Village Hall, said: “We are delighted with the updated facilities that we have been able to bring to the village hall.

“It looks fabulous and regular bookers have already told us that their experience is much improved by the new toilets.

“The committee has worked hard to secure the funds for this work, and together with other improvements, continue to invest in the hall for the use of those who reside in Callow End and beyond."
