FIRE crews observed a minute's silence as they paid their respects to a fallen firefighter who died in the line of duty.

The Malvern crew observed a minute’s silence to remember firefighter Barry Martin on Monday (February 13).

Mr Martin died on January 27 following injuries he sustained during a large-scale fire in Edinburgh earlier that week.

The 38-year-old from Fife tackled a huge blaze at the Jenners building with colleagues on January 23.

He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary after sustaining injuries but later died. Mr Martin is survived by his wife and two children.
