THOUSANDS of gardening enthusiasts descended on Malvern for one of the biggest UK flower shows of the year.
Over 100,000 people from across the country were expected to walk through the doors of the Three Counties Showground for the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, which took place from Thursday (May 5) until Sunday, May 8.
Among the big showbiz names who appeared at the event were celebrity florist and TV judge on The Big Allotment Challenge Jonathan Moseley, and BBC Radio 2 broadcaster and keen gardener Jo Whiley who helped with the design of the RHS Malvern Spring Festival’s first-ever RHS feature garden, the Vitamin G Garden.
A geometric garden was also created to celebrate the formation of the Royal Air Force in 1918 and commemorating the ending of World War I.
Among the best in show winners were:
- Malvern Floral Marquee: Southfield Nurseries of Bourne
- Grown and Know: Hardy Plant Society of Malvern
- Floral Art: Mrs Collier of Corby
The Princess Royal was also a guest, appearing at the event on Thursday to present the award for best exhibit in the floral marquee.
