HUNDREDS of runners enjoyed the good weather when they took part in the Crowle Gunpowder Plot 10k.

The event has become a popular annual fixture for residents of the Worcester village, and this year's event starting and finishing on the playing field in Crowle village, again did not disappoint.

As well as the main 10k event, hundreds of youngsters also took part in the family fun runs.

In the quarter of a mile route for children, top boy and girl were Toby Gibson and Ella Purves.

In the one mile run for under 16s, top boy and girl were Malachi Cashmore and Lauren Kennard.

Caroline Brookes, co-organiser, said: "Once again we have received amazing support, and there has been an excellent turnout.

"The money raised goes to support good causes in Crowle, supporting the parish hall trust and their good work, such as maintencance of the bowls area and tennis court

"The village's WI and pre-school all benefit.

"This is the 16th year of the 10k, and it is now probably the biggest event held annually in Crowle.

"It has become a brilliant, family day out."
