THE Parish of Malvern Link with Cowleigh has a new vicar, Rev Phillip Johnson.
Mr Johnson will take up his new position at a service on Sunday, April 22, at St Matthias Church in the Link.
The Bishop of Worcester John Inge and Archdeacon of Worcester Robert Jones will be conducting the service.
Before ordination, Mr Johnson trained as an actor and worked as an actor and theatre director. He also qualified and worked as a teacher.
He was ordained in 2008, and since 2011 has been the vicar of All Saints in Guildford.
His new post will put him in charge of the St Peter's and the Church of the Ascension as well as St Matthias.
Richard Tandy of the Malvern Link with Cowleigh Parochial Church Council said: "He and we share a conviction that his vision and leadership can help bring about changes and developments that will benefit people from all parts of our local community."
