PLUMES of smoke could be seen above Worcester this afternoon after a fire broke out at a derelict building on Tolladine Road.

Four Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews attended the scene, near the former Tolladine Golf Course, just after 3pm.

Following the fire, residents posted pictures and videos of the eerie smoke on social media.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus and positive pressure ventilation (PPV) to put out the blaze at the 15 by 15 metre building.

No one is thought to have been hurt in the fire.

No one is believed to have been inside the building at the time of the blaze.

It was extinguished by 3.29pm.
