A WOOD in Bromsgrove has been named the 7th best place in the UK to enjoy a winter walk on Boxing Day.
Outdoor adventurer and TV presenter Julia Bradbury teamed up with the Woodland Trust to compile her top ten list.
Julia said: "Woods are real winter wonderlands –whether it’s a crisp, frosty morning or soggy afternoon, it’s great to fill your lungs with fresh air and embrace the chilly weather.
"If your family has overindulged during the festive season, why not take them for an outdoor adventure; my top Woodland Trust walks are ideal places to burn off those extra mince pies."
Pepper Wood, which is located a mile from the M5, came 7th on Julia's list.
A remnant of the once widespread 'Feckenham Forest' of Worcestershire, Pepper Wood boasts an exceptional diversity of tree and shrub species.
A good network of rides and an eight-mile trail gives visitors the chance to explore - and there's a car park nearby.
Julia's full list includes:
1) Hainault Forest, London
2) Great Knott Wood, Cumbria
3) Nidd Gorge, North Yorkshire
4) Ledmore and Migdale Wood, Scottish Highlands
5) Hucking Estate, Kent
6) Brede High Woods, East Sussex
7) Pepper Wood, Bromsgrove
8) Tring Park, Hertfordshire
9) Carmoney Hill, Northern Ireland
10) Coed y Gopa, Clwyd
