LIAM Purser won by 10lb when Whitehall 1212 AC visited Cutnall Green’s Broadfields Fishery after consistently framing in recent matches.

On permanent peg 11 he targeted the opposite island with 8mm pellets and caught small carp before changing to pole-fished maggot to top up his net for a winning 42lb 10oz 0dr.

Regular winner Dan Sydall had to be content with the runner-up prize when his feeder and maggot taken peg eight catch of small carp fell well short on 32-8.

In third place came Gareth Cook on peg 18 weighing 27-6.

The silver fish winner was John Shelton.

The Wednesday match on the Avon at Twyning attracted 20 anglers to a low, difficult river.

A knock-up on Upton AA River Severn Ham waters saw competitors faced with a rapidly rising river which led to some disappointing catches.

Taking the top payout from upstream peg two was Richard Brewer who took three big bream and a few skimmers on the feeder going 19-12.

Second with two bream and a few skimmers from peg 31 was Richard Blight.

Third with one bream and skimmers off peg six was Colin Harvey weighing 12-13.
