A DOG walker has thanked "neighbourly" members of the public who stopped to help after her dog was attacked.

Anne Scadding, from Malvern Link, was walking along Howsell Road on Friday, December 9, when a small dog - which had escaped from its owner's house - attacked Archie, her Westie.

The 42-year-old, who had just dropped her daughter off at school, said: "I let them greet and just as it was about to kick off I scooped my dog up and this dog latched onto the back of my dog. I had two dogs in the air."

Panicked by the attack, Archie - who Mrs Scadding says is "a sweet little dog" - accidentally scratched and bit his owner's jaw.

Passers by who saw the scuffle stopped to help, reassuring Mrs Scadding and taking her to hospital for treatment.

"It was all a bit of a nightmare," she said. "Lots of people came to help me and two ladies in particular who I do not have contact details for.

"They drove me round to hospital and kept checking I was okay and I got home alright.

"They were just really neighbourly and really helpful - I was quite badly shaken by it all. I would just really like them to be thanked."

Mrs Scadding says the people who helped are called Sarah, Hazel and Judith - while another person, who is friends with Sarah also helped.
