ON Saturday, September 17 the Black Pear Gardening Club visited Malcolm Styles Oriental and Bonsai garden. This impressive garden contained a raised pond by the patio, several water features and oriental shelters, one of which is Malcolm's bonsai workshop. Also on display around the garden was a superb collection of bonsai. Malcolm is the Chairman of the Worcester Bonsai Society and he gave us an informative demonstration on creating bonsai. Tea and excellent cake were supplied by Mrs Styles and her team of helpers.
The next meeting is a celebrity lecture by the journalist and author Val Bourne on October 15 2.30pm at Powick Parish Hall. Visitors welcome, Tickets £5 from Brian Skeys 01684 311297.
