THE owner of a barber shop in Barnards Green has hit out at vandals who smashed his window late on Monday night.

The unknown offenders threw an A-board through the window of Barbertown overnight between Monday and Tuesday.

Owner Jon Bourne said he was appalled when he came to the show in Barnards Green Road on Tuesday morning.

He said: "Someone from the shop next door told me they'd accidentally left their A-board out. They were very apologetic.

"I had to call the glazier out and it will end up costing me a couple of grand, with £500 excess on my insurance.

"I tried to find out if the CCTV cameras had seen it, but I was told they hadn't been switched on for years."

Mr Bourne only opened the shop in Barnards Green in March, after having operated salons on Worcester for the best part of ten years.

He said: "Some weeks ago, there were kids getting stuff out of the bin outside the shop and throwing is against the window. Nothing got broken then but I had to clear it up in the morning.

"The kids were from the Chase, so I complained and the school marched them in to apologise. I wasn't really expecting this when I opened up in Barnards Green."
