A WORCESTER student travelling to India to help disabled children is seeking donations to support her trip.
Natalie Pacey, 21, will arrive at the children’s hostel in the Indian town Varanasi on August 13.
Ms Pacey, who is an occupational therapist, will carry out therapeutic activities with the children as part of the Life Foundation project.
“The sorts of things I'll be doing with the children is sensory work, arts and craft, teaching them hygiene tips,” she said.
“I know when I'm there all my nerves will float away and I'll be so glad. I can’t wait to get stuck in.
“I have always wanted to work abroad and be able to help people who are less fortunate than me and hopefully make a difference.”
Ms Pacey accepted an invitation to take part in the Life Foundation project on March 27.
University of Worcester lecturer Yvonne Thomas told Ms Pacey about the opportunity.
Although she doesn’t speak Hindi, Ms Pacey has prepared herself by learning some key words and phrases.
Ms Pacey has taken advice about the culture from the family of her boyfriend who are from an Indian family. To donate, visit Ms Pacey’s gofundme page.
