CLAIRE Bruno is shaving her hair off to raise money for Macmillan charity, after her grandmother died from cancer.

Ms Bruno is taking part in the “Brave the Shave” campaign, to provide home and end of life support to cancer sufferers.

Amanda Smith will be shaving her close friend’s hair on August 12, after experiencing similar cancer battles with her relatives.

Ms Bruno said; “I love both my nans very dearly. I was very, very close to my grandmother that passed away. She really looked after us.

“The owner of Tiger Lou’s, Amanda Smith, is shaving my hair for me as a friend and has decided to get involved as this is a cause close to her heart.

“I want to make a difference really.”

Ms Smith’s stepfather died from cancer and her mother also had breast cancer, although she is now in remission.

Ms Bruno was further motivated to undertake the challenge because her 92-year-old grandmother was diagnosed with terminal thyroid and lung cancer.

The shave will take place at Tiger Lou’s nail bar in Malvern Link on August 12.

All donations will be going directly to Macmillan, and sponsors can contribute at bravetheshave.org.uk under the name ‘Claire Bruno’ or by calling in at Tiger Lou’s.
