A SUMMER fayre to raise money for new play equipment will take place at Holt Millennium Green this Saturday (July 16) between 11am and 4pm.

Jane Brain, one of the trustees of Holt Millennium Green, said it was the first fayre in the village for two years and would help towards raising the £40,000 they need for new play equipment to replace the wooden equipment.

They hope the new kit will include a toddler area, swings and balance bars.

Mrs Brain said: "We're trying to make it a real family thing for all ages and for everybody to enjoy. It's all free including the parking but any donations are welcome.

"We hope a lot of people will come and hope everyone has fun. Come along. Enjoy yourself. The more the merrier."

The free day will feature Chase from Paw Patrol, sports, Grimley and Holt school choir, 'pampered ponies', a pig roast, bar, land train, bouncy castle, tombola, face painting, craft stalls, penalty shootout, ice creams, mini car boot, dog show, Indian food and Henna tattoos.

The dog show includes the following categories: best family pet, handsomest dog, prettiest bitch, best condition, best veteran over seven years and the judges's favourite dog and bitch.

Visitors should turn right at the Red Lion pub on the Tenbury Road onto the B4196 towards Stourport.
