A WOMAN whose mother is battling dementia has organised a fundraiser to help in the ongoing fight to find a cure.

Julie Brannon, whose 65-year-old mum has Alzheimer's Disease, has invited people to support her at the "Cupcake Day" fundraiser at Fernhill Heath War Memorial Club on the A38 in Fernhill Heath, near Worcester on Thursday, June 16, beginning at 1pm.

In particular Mrs Brannon of Ronkswood, Worcester, wants support with the donation of cup cakes and raffle prizes to make the fundraiser for the Alzheimer's Society a success.

Coffee and tea will also be available and the fundraiser is open to everyone.

Mrs Brannon said: "My mum has it so it is something close to my heart.

"I just want to raise as much money as possible and help as much as I can.

"The main thing is to help find a cure which they're not close to at the moment.

"It's not going to help my mum but it may help people in the future."
