THE outgoing Chairman Mike Taylor welcomed members to the AGM of the club on Monday April 18 at the Abbey Hotel Malvern.

The business was swiftly and efficiently conducted and the new Chairman Tony Bates was welcomed into office. Detailed accounts for the year were presented by Treasurer Robin Clarke.

The programme for the morning comprised entertaining presentations by two members. David Harris spoke of his career in advertising and PR which, though commencing in Worcester, had taken him to many worldwide assignments. Robin Clarke, following academic success in Chemistry at Cambridge had later changed to the accountancy profession and served in banking and political roles until his retirement to Malvern. Both talks were very informative and sadly time ran out before the many questions that members wished to ask could be answered.

The next meeting will be on Monday May 9 when the speaker will be the well known local naturalist Garth Lowe, and the next outside visit for members is to be to Madresfield Court on May 18 which 25 members are expected to attend.

We meet at the Abbey Hotel, Great Malvern with refreshments available from 10am and the meeting begins at 10.30am. Guests are always welcome. For further information please email the Programme Secretary, b533martin@btinternet.com.
