UPDATE 2.45pm.

A STATEMENT just issued by Severn Trent said: “We’re pleased to say that we’ve fixed the burst water pipe which is affecting water supply for our customers living in the WR8 and GL20 postcode areas.

"We’re now putting water back through our network of pipes and everyone should start to see their water supply coming back on in the next few hours, if they haven’t already.

“The water pipe, which was in a field near to Upton Marina, burst this morning and our teams have worked around the clock today to complete the repairs.

" We’d like to apologise to everyone affected today, we know how difficult it is to have no water, especially on a bank holiday, and we’re very sorry for any disruption caused.”

HOUSEHOLDS and businesses in and around Upton have had their water supply cut off or reduced by a burst water main.

Severn Trent reports the burst is in a field close to Upton Marina, and a repair team is on the site right now trying to fix the problem.

A spokesman said: "We’re sorry to our customers living in the WR8 and GL20 postcode areas whose water supply may be off or at low pressure today.

"We’re working hard to move water around our network of pipes and we’re bringing water into the area in tankers so we can get water supply back on for most of our customers while we continue to carry out the repairs, and everything back to normal as quickly as possible.

"We know how difficult it is to have no water, especially on a bank holiday, and we’re very sorry for disruption caused."
