A MECCA for tractor fans is being held at Malvern showground when the first Spring Tractor World Show of the season takes place.

The show has become well established over the last 14 years and is eagerly anticipated by traders, families and enthusiasts alike.

Slightly earlier than in previous years, the Three Counties Showground in Malvern will be transformed into a tractor fans utopia over February 27 and 28. Regional and national clubs will be displaying over 450 tractors, machinery and pieces of equipment, all undercover in four exhibition halls.

Not just for farming and tractor enthusiasts, but for family visitors too, last year's show saw a record breaking number of visitors through the door, and this year looks set to be even bigger and better.

Exhibits include: classic, vintage and veteran tractors, machinery, horticultural equipment and farm model displays, stationary engines, classic trucks and plant, Land Rovers, full size and miniature steam engines, as well as spares, parts, toys, clothes, books and models.

Organised by Mark Woodward and sponsored by Tractor & Machinery Magazine, this year’s event celebrates tractors in all their splendid glory. It is the 80th anniversary of the Ransomes Mg Crawlers and the 70th anniversary of the iconic Ferguson Tractor, so stunning showcases are expected from them.

Over the weekend, visitors are treated to restoration and practical demonstrations, and this year a new larger restoration area will be utilised, with more specialist companies taking part. LW Yarnold Ltd is bringing a line up of new Zetor tractors alongside possibly the UK’s largest gathering of classic Zetor models and other East European makes.

Fans of spares should head over to the show on Saturday when H.J Pugh and Co will be hosting their famous Vintage auction where over 2,000 lots are expected. On Sunday there will be the annual “sort out and spares day”, the classic truck and van display, plus the charity tractor road run into the Malvern Hills.

Organiser, Mark Woodward said: “Last year we erected a massive marquee which meant we had lots more space and most of the show was undercover. Visitors enjoyed browsing the trade and club stands in comfort, so this year with visitor numbers set to be even higher, we’ve extended it again to four exhibition halls as well as the show ground. It’s one of the biggest events of its kind in the country and it’s nice to see some familiar faces in the crowds, who’ve supported this event over the years. Although we are now the largest trade gathering for spares and parts, it’s a family day out with lots for our younger visitors to enjoy too.”
