A fundraising target set up in memory of an adventurous Malvern woman who was tragically killed in Australia has been smashed three times over.

The family of Michela Russo set up the fundraising page in aid of Lincs2nepal, a charity which they say would have been close to her heart as she was planning to travel to country to help children who live there.

The original target was £500, but thanks to people's generosity, £1,511.59 has been raised from 47 donations (accurate on Monday, January 25).

Michela was knocked down while crossing the road near to her Sydney flat.

The 40 year-old had lived in the country since 2000, but grew up in Malvern where she attended St Joseph's RC School and then The Chase High School.

Her parents ran the Russo Coffee Lounge and restaurant for many years too.

The charity helps improve the education and health of children born in the poorer communities of Nepal.
