A MALVERN family has raised £145.31 from its Christmas Lights display.

Each year, the Leamans decorate their Beauchamp Road home with elaborate and imaginative seasonal illuminations.

Tom Leaman and his brother Tim, who do the decorations each year, chose to contribute to Guide Dogs for the Blind, because their

step-dad Derek Hazlehurst has a guide dog.

“His dog is really useful so we decided to ask people to give money for the cause,” says Mr Leaman.

Passers-by admiring the display were urged to knock on the door and give a contribution to the family's collection tin.

Mr Leaman said: "We want to say thank-you to staff at St Joseph Catholic Primary School for donating and to the public for donating as well. We hope to raise more this year with an even bigger display."

Debbie Pitts, the Malvern and Ledbury fundraiser for Guide Dogs for the Blind, said: "We're very grateful for the donation. Guide Dogs receives no government funding and is reliant on the generosity of people like Tom, Tim and their family, who give their time and effort to raise funds for this great cause."
