Although river levels are now falling the rain last night and more forecast on Saturday by the Met Office means that river levels are expected to creep up again in coming days.

A further peak level of between 4.6 and 4.9 metres is expected to occur on Saturday. This additional peak is due to further forecast rainfall over the coming days, including overnight last night.

At 4pm last night the level at the Kempsey Yacht Club gauge was 6.13 metres and falling slowly. A peak level of 6.76 metres occurred on January 4.

However, a further peak level of between 5.8 and 6.1 metres is expected to occur overnight on Friday.
