ENTERPRISING youngsters at Northleigh CE Primary School in Malvern raised over £650 for local charities at their end-of-term event.

The Enterprise Sale, held on Friday, December 11, saw the children raise funds for Malvern Special Families and the Friends of Northleigh School by selling a range of handmade products focused around the local area.

Children in Years 5 and 6 were asked to make products to answer their term's topic question: 'What does Great Malvern have to offer?' As a result various Malvern-themed calendars, cakes, Christmas decorations and snow globes were crafted by the hard-working children.

Teacher Suzanne Currie said: “We are all very proud of the efforts put in by all the children in Years 5 and 6. The idea behind the sale was to celebrate the beautiful place in which we live, and to raise funds to put something back into our local community.”

Maria Munday from Malvern Special Families said: “We're very grateful for all the hard work the children put into this project. The donation will help us make the festive period even more special for the families we work with.”
