PETER Bellamy is the new chairman of Upton in Bloom.
Mr Bellamy replaces Eric White, who recently resigned from the committee along with fellow founder member Doug Fletcher. He will also continue as treasurer for the group.
Spokesman Jackie Surtees said Mr Fletcher and Mr White would be missed, and that their guidance and support had contributed to the group's success over the years.
Fundraising to help with the Britain in Bloom entry continues with a Window Quiz.
Sponsors have been given photographs to display in their shop windows, and a sheet of 20 questions relating to them is available from the Tourist Information Office, in Old Street. The first entry to answer all questions correctly will win £25.
