THE renowned Cavaleri Quartet are the performers at the next recital by Malvern Concert Club at the Forum, Malvern Theatres.
Since its formation in 2008, the Cavaleri Quartet has gained a reputation as one of the leading European string quartets and has won several international prizes.
It first came to prominence in the UK after winning the Royal Over-Seas League Ensemble Competition in 2011, following its Wigmore Hall London debut in 2010.
Recent highlights include a major tour of New Zealand, Australia and Colombia.
The quartet has performed at all of the major London concert venues and broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and in Europe.
The programme for the Malvern concert opens with Three Pieces for String Quartet by Igor Stravinsky. This is followed by Mozart’s String Quartet No.15 in D minor K421, followed by Puccini’s I Crisantemi, written in 1890 - in a single night, according to the composer.
The evening culminates with Brahms String Quartet No.3 in B flat, Op.67 which received its premiere in 1876 in Berlin.
The concert is on Thursday, November 26, starting at 7.30pm, and tickets (£17) are available from Malvern Theatres box office on 01684 882277.
