A CHANCE to miss the December rush for Christmas presents is taking place between Droitwich and Worcester on Saturday (November 21).

Conservation charity Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is hosting a craft fair at its headquarters in Lower Smite Farm from 10am and 4pm.

The event will showcase a range of local craft workers in time for the Christmas shopping period.

Hannah Thomas, organiser of the craft fair for the trust, said: "This is a great opportunity to buy a range of hand-crafted presents for loved ones – and get ahead with your Christmas shopping.

“We’ve got a wide range of craft workers from Worcestershire and beyond that will be selling their handmade products – from blacksmiths and candles to artists and woodworkers to jewellers and children’s knitwear and much more.”

Visitors to the craft fair can also take the opportunity to don their walking boots and head out for a walk around the trust’s nature trail – a mile and a half hike taking in many of the farm’s habitats.

Miss Thomas added: “We’ll be running a lucky dip for children throughout the day and will have activities to keep the little ones occupied while parents and grandparents are relaxing with a cup of tea.

“We’ll also have our own range of Christmas cards and our ever popular calendar featuring winners of our annual photography competition.”

Hot drinks, including festive spiced berry, cakes and mince pies will be available throughout the day.

Entry is free and plenty of car parking is available on site.
