MALVERN Hills residents are being urged to sign up for free first aid courses being held across the district in the next few weeks.

The courses will be run by members of St John Ambulance and will teach techniques to deal with serious conditions and incidents involving people of all ages.

The first one is on Thursday (November 12) at the Upton Hill Centre, and is open to anyone who lives or works in the Malvern Hills District. The course is free but donations are welcomed on the day towards St John Ambulance.

Cllr Rebecca Massey, the council's portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, said: "It is fantastic we are able to offer these vital first aid courses. First aid saves lives and St John Ambulance provides excellent training to equip us with these essential skills.

"The previous first aid course we held here was really popular, so please be quick and register".

Next week's course is at the Hill Centre, Tunnel Hill, Upton, starting at 7pm.

The remaining courses will take place on Saturday, November 21, at 10am at Martley Memorial Hall; Friday, November 27, at 6pm at Tenbury Pump Rooms, and on Saturday, 12 December 12, at 10am at Malvern Vale Community Centre

Anyone who would like to enrol on a course should contact Jordan Cotton on 01684 862372 or Jordan.Cotton@malvernhills.gov.uk. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
