TWO kind hearted young girls who were sad there were people living in England who could not afford to eat made a cute video to inspire people to donate to food banks.

Lucy Grace and Tahlia Walker, from Bengeworth, Evesham, decided to carry out chores and look down the back of the sofa to raise enough money to buy tinned goods, baby wipes and other essentials for Caring Hands of the Vale at Evesham Christian Centre.

The six and four-year-old sisters filmed their good deed to encourage more people to donate to foodbanks for a YouTube video called If We Can? You Can.

The pair saved money since August and managed to raise over £40 for the shopping trip.

Their mother Kelly said: "Lucy-Grace was talking about people being poor and she gets quite emotional about it.

"She asked what she could do to help and I explained to her about food banks and we looked at the Caring Hands website.

"She asked if we could save some pennies and buy some food for the food bank.

"She said she wanted to make it into a video to show people what they had been up to and how they could help too.

"We have been saving money in a jar for a while but when they decided to do this we saved extra hard and they did chores and were searching the house for coins."

Lucy Grace and Tahlia bought baby wipes, jars of baby food, tins of potatoes, cereal, long life milk and other items on the food bank's shopping list.

Their father Johnnie filmed and edited the video of the girls at home, in the shop and donating the food while the girls narrated.

Mrs Walker added: "We are very proud of them, they are very confident which is lovely because I'm not confident at all.

"They are always thinking of others and share with their friends and are always giving people hugs."
